Good Night, Sweet Dreams, Pixi…

Say Good Night with the Pixi Bedtime Stories...

The moment we got together with Carlsen on their Pixi app project we knew we were in for something special.

Building out a new subscription platform for such a successful brand and series of books was a central part of the development process and discovering that this short form audio can be used for Carlsen in many different contexts such as interactive apps, streaming platforms, give these stories the form of music tracks with their 4-5 minutes of length. Our discussions together centred on the use of a digital app at the bedtime of a child. The conclusion was to focus on bedtime stories as pure audiobooks so as to not wake up children with any unnecessary interaction and screen entertainment  - simply relax, close your eyes, and listen to the story.

Launching on a simple “first base” is often the best way in which publishers can see how their existing content can be appreciated before adding new features and producing additional content. The readers of Pixi will know and love these stories and Carlsen now can look to build a whole platform of content.

Here’s Dr. Markus Dömer, Head of Business Development & AR/VR TechHub at Carlsen Verlag, and his thoughts on working together:

The concept of WunderBox to offer a multi-media and customisable app platform has revitalised our interest in this mobile media format. It offers us cost-effective and high-quality output so that we can present our content attractively in the app world.

For now,  congratulations to Carlsen for keeping it real simple and presenting their first 70 short-form audio tracks on their new Pixi audio store. Good night and sweet dreams everyone...
